General Liability Insurance

A standard insurance policy issued to business organizations to protect them against liability claims for bodily injury and property damage arising out of premises, operations, products, and completed operations

Commercial Property

An insurance policy for businesses and other organizations that insures against damage to their buildings and contents due to a covered cause of loss, such as a fire.

Business Automobile

A commercial auto policy that includes auto liability and auto physical damage coverages.

Trucker’s Insurance

A commercial auto policy designed to address the needs of the “for-hire” motor carrier (i.e., trucking) industry. Coverages available include auto liability, and auto physical damage, and cargo coverage.

Directors & Officers

A type of liability insurance covering directors and officers for claims made against them while serving on a board of directors and/or as an officer. D&O liability insurance can be written to cover the directors and officers of for-profit businesses, privately held firms, not-for-profit organizations, and educational institutions.

Employment Practices Liability

A type of liability insurance covering wrongful acts arising from the employment process. The most frequent

types of claims covered under such policies include: wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. In addition, the policies cover claims from a variety of other types of inappropriate workplace conduct, including (but not limited to) employment-related: defamation, invasion of privacy, failure to promote, deprivation of a career opportunity, and negligent evaluation

Professional Liability

A type of liability coverage designed to protect traditional professionals (e.g., accountants, attorneys) and quasi-professionals (e.g., real estate brokers, consultants) against liability incurred as a result of errors and omissions in performing their professional services. Most professional liability policies only cover economic or financial losses suffered by third parties.

Umbrella and Excess Liability

A policy designed to provide protection against catastrophic losses. It generally is written over various primary liability policies, such as the business auto policy and commercial general liability policy.

Farm Owners Insurance

These policies, sometimes referred to as farm insurance, provide homeowners, commercial property, and commercial liability coverage.

Workers’ Compensation

Insurance that provides no-fault statutory benefits prescribed in state law by an employer to an employee (or the employee’s family) due to a job-related injury (including death) resulting from an accident or occupational disease.

Surety Bond

A contract under which one party (the surety) guarantees the performance of certain obligations of a second party (the principal) to a third party (the obligee). For example, most construction contractors must provide the party for which they are performing operations with a bond guaranteeing that they will complete the project by the date specified in the construction contract in accordance with all plans and specifications.

Performance Bond

A performance bond guarantees that the contractor will perform the work in accordance with the construction contract and related documents, thus protecting the owner from financial loss up to the bond limit in the event the contractor fails to fulfill its contractual obligations.

Habitational

Habitational risks are covered under a Business Insurance Policy. Habitational risk insurance policies are designed for commercial residential properties including apartment buildings, rented houses, condominiums and homeowners associations.

Business Insurance Policies Typically Provide Coverage for the Following Losses:

  • Fire and Lightning
  • Smoke
  • Hail and Windstorm
  • Explosions
  • Aircraft or Vehicles
  • Vandalism
  • Malicious Mischief

Business Insurance Policies do not just cover the building. Coverage for business personal property, personal property of others, business income, and extra expenses is available.

Liability coverage is also available.
